Decant Digital (formerly bizeez communications)
was founded in 2010 by Tania Shirgwin
in the Barossa, Australia.
This is Our Journey So Far…
I have always had a passion for communication and design. So the idea of a creative marketing agency started way back in 2007 while working for a global wine business. I quickly recognised emerging digital technology as a cost effective means to connect and engage wine brands with the wine consumer.
In 2010, I took the leap and founded bizeez with an aim to simply assist boutique wine brands learn more about how social media can connect and engage their target consumers via social media.
After assisting a number of wine brands with their social media, I was asked if I could create a tourism website for a small BnB – in 2012 I designed, developed and search optimised our very first website – Barossa Old Garage BnB.
As my specialist knowledge of Wine Tourism grew, I was asked to run a number of workshops on different topics for different specialty groups. Today, I love running workshops + training courses. Bring more on!
Throughout 2013 & 2014, I really honed the skills of Event Marketing by working on numerous wine & hospitality events including the Barossa Gourmet Weekend. Fun times!
On Christmas Day 2014, I suffered an Ischemic Stroke which left me partially blind and mobility issues. Sometimes life sucks!
Not content to stay locked in my small world – I decided to push myself and signed up as a Speaker at the South Australian Tourism Conference, Social Media Tourism Conference and Australian Trade Tasting Conference. One heck of a year!
After six years of only me assisting and collaborating with many fabulous wine, tourism & hospitality businesses, I took the step of bringing together a specialist team of in-house & freelancers. WooHoo!
No business owner or entrepreneur can be all about business all the time. In 2018, I fulfilled a dream since having the stroke to drive from the Barossa Valley to Alice Springs and return to grow awareness of stroke and assist with raising much needed funds for the Australian Stroke Foundation. Mission accomplished thanks to friend David Lloyd.
Ten years of running everything from a home office, I took the plunge and moved into a fabulous studio. One month later and COVID, hit so it was back to the home office for a few months. Not a fun year!
With a decades experience working with global names and boutique brands in wine, tourism and hospitality, I decided to rebrand to truly reflect and showcase our marketing services…. say hello to Decant Digital.
